SRI hosts Visiting Scholars from University of Kabul, Afghanistan

On September 19th, SRI was honored to host three visiting scholars from the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, Social Sciences Faculty, University of Kabul, Afghanistan on a tour of its Tucson facility and collections. Ms. Arian Qeyame, Ms. Muzhgan Hamraz, and Mr. Ahmad Omar Hamid met with SRI Principal and SAA President Dr. Jeff Altschul, Sr. Project Director and AAHS President Dr. Jesse Ballenger, and Office Director and Principal Investigator Mr. Robert Wegener.

Topics of discussion included national heritage practices, archaeological methods and theory, archaeological ethics, and arid land adaptations. The group is visiting Tucson as part of the University of Arizona Heritage Conservation Program, a Drachman Institute project directed by Dr. Suzanne Bott.
